Dev Blog | S3 Aberrant Progeny Visional Wheel FAQ

01/30/2026 Dev Blog | S3 Aberrant Progeny Visional Wheel FAQ

Dear Metas,

Since the launch of S3 Aberrant Progeny, we've received enthusiastic attention and active participation from all Metas, along with a wealth of player feedback. The development team extends our heartfelt gratitude to all Metas. Meanwhile, we've compiled and addressed the most frequently asked questions:

Q1: The materials required for Territory protection in Pollution Zones, such as Stardust Ore, are excessively costly and overly diverse, making the investment in base-building disproportionate to the output.

A: We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. Due to calculation discrepancies, a bug requiring excessive materials for Territory protection in Pollution Zones was confirmed after the January 21 (PT) update. This issue was resolved on the same day.

Regarding the high resource consumption in Pro Difficulty Deviant Zones, after careful evaluation, we believe the current values are reasonable. As the highest-level Pollution Zones, Pro Difficulty Deviant Zones are designed for maximum rewards with corresponding high risks. Maintaining Territories here demands greater resource investment, encouraging well-prepared Metas to engage in challenges rather than permanent occupation. Players can establish bases in Normal or Hard Difficulty Deviant Zones for more stable gameplay, progressing to higher difficulties when adequately equipped. We'll continue monitoring this system and appreciate your understanding.

Q2: While exploring Pollution Zones, we've found Stardust Ore extremely difficult to obtain, with Mining Platforms being inefficient. We hope for increased Stardust Ore yields in Pollution Zones.

A: This was caused by a bug. We've implemented fixes across all scenarios except "Deviation: Survive, Capture, Preserve" which will receive comprehensive adjustments to all related outputs after the February 4 (PT) update. Post-adjustment, Stardust Ore resources in Pollution Zones should be more stable and better aligned with high-risk zone reward expectations.

Q3. The corrosion mechanism for structures in the Pollution Zone is unreasonable. Currently, the corrosion speed is too fast, and the material cost for reinforcement is excessively high. The current settings hinder players who engage in large-scale construction.

A: We’ve received this feedback and are continuously monitoring and evaluating the related mechanics to better understand the actual impact and data performance. Meanwhile, optimization plans are also in preparation. We will address the issues raised with adjustments and improvements in future updates, and the revised plans will be announced promptly. For now, we recommend that Metas choose their Territory locations based on their in-game pace and resource availability. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Q4. The Stardust Generator in the Pollution Zone is malfunctioning, and the Stardust Miner cannot operate.

A: Currently, the rule for determining whether an area is within the Pollution Zone is based on whether the Territory Terminal is inside it. Some Metas have their Territory Terminal outside the Pollution Zone while their production facilities are inside, which prevents them from obtaining the corresponding resource output. We acknowledge that this mechanic may cause inconvenience in actual gameplay and will schedule optimizations in future updates.

Q5. The overall experience of the "You're Delicious" Whim is poor: it turns enemy drops into meat/berries, including loot from chests, and the countdown refresh mechanic of the Whim negatively affects gameplay.

A: We sincerely apologize that the "You're Delicious" Whim did not meet expectations and caused inconvenience and frustration during Metas' adventures. Currently, this Whim has been temporarily disabled in instances. In the game, Energy remains tied to Survival Stats and must be maintained continuously. We will continue monitoring and evaluating whether further adjustments are needed. Additionally, we are collecting feedback and suggestions regarding this Whim’s mechanics—feel free to share your thoughts via the Once Human Co-Dev Feedback Platform.

Q6. The enemy base destruction mechanic in Pro Difficulty Deviant Zones is unreasonable, with some players maliciously luring enemies to attack other players' structures in the Pollution Zone.

A: Pollution Zones are high-risk, high-reward areas with inherent dangers. The enemy base destruction mechanic only applies to Pro Difficulty Deviant Zones. Based on feedback, we've added a feature where loot from destroyed bases will automatically go into the vault to minimize unnecessary losses. This update is expected to go live this week. Note: If a player's resources exceed the vault capacity, any surplus will still be lost after base destruction. Please monitor your resource levels and capacity.

Q7. Deviant Sprouts cannot be stacked, taking up too much backpack space.

A: Since each Deviant Sprout's durability is calculated independently, they cannot be stacked. We apologize for the inconvenience. To address this, we'll introduce a dismantling feature for Deviant Sprouts after the February 4 (PT) update. Metas can disassemble unwanted Sprouts into Deviant Seeds at the Disassembly Bench to save backpack space.

Q8. There's no clear explanation of new mechanics like Deviant Zones or Void/Solid State—how they work, their weaknesses, or combat strategies. I don't want to read lengthy patch notes and hope for more in-game guidance.

A: Thank you for the feedback. We're improving tutorial prompts and explanations. Currently, you can access detailed rules by long-pressing the button on the interface. Future updates will add hints to map pins, clearer combat tutorials, and mechanics breakdowns to help Metas better understand Deviant Zone logic and enemy traits.

Q9. Deviant Chests disappear too quickly (only 1 minute). Often I'm too busy fighting enemies to collect rewards, and opening chests requires holding a button without moving—leaving me vulnerable to attacks.

A: Thank you for your feedback. After the version update on February 4 (PT), the duration of Deviant Chests will be extended to 5 minutes, giving you more time to explore and compete. Additionally, the chests will now have a chance to drop exclusive Aberrant Progeny Vision creatures, adding more surprises and rewards to your adventures.

Q10: The Phantasmal Zones often appear in areas completely devoid of creatures, making it impossible to capture any animals.

A: We’ve confirmed that the abnormal creature spawn issue in the Phantasmal Zones is a bug, preventing some Metas from capturing animals. This issue has will be fixed with the February 4 (PT) update. Thank you for your feedback and patience.

This concludes the S3 Aberrant Progeny FAQ Dev Blog. We hope it addresses some of your questions. If you encounter other issues during gameplay, please continue sharing your feedback via the Once Human Co-Dev Feedback Platform (https://www.oncehuman.game/grfkpt/ ).
