Meta Hotline | Hot Feedback and Optimization Progress Vol. 5

07/09/2026 Meta Hotline | Hot Feedback and Optimization Progress Vol. 5

Dear Metas,

After the v2.3.7 update, we added the Feedback Hot Charts section to the Feedback Platform homepage, showcasing recent high-frequency requests from players. After signing in to the Feedback Platform, you can like the feedback you support and dislike the feedback you don't support on the Hot Charts. The Hot Charts will display player likes and dislikes in real time, and the development team will also reference these to decide on the development priority of specific features. (Feedback Platform link: Once Human Feedback Platform )

With each version update, the Feedback Hot Charts will also be updated, after which we will announce our optimization plans and progress for issues that charted during the previous cycle. Your suggestions are important to us, and we hope the Feedback Hot Charts will help us communicate and share our development plans and progress more openly.

Today is the release day of the fifth Meta Hotline! As of July 9, the Feedback Hot Charts standings are as follows:

Thank you all for taking part. Every piece of feedback, every like, and every dislike helps the dev team better understand which needs matter most from the player perspective. Below are the follow-up details for this cycle's top suggestions.

1. [Top Suggestion - Chat Timestamp] Add timestamp display in chat

Optimization Progress: Temporarily not adding a chat timestamp display feature.

Some Metas wish to add timestamps to the chat channels to help determine when messages were sent. After evaluation, the information density in most server chat channels is currently within a relatively readable range, and chat content has generally not been difficult to understand due to a lack of time markers. At the same time, adding timestamps would increase the amount of information displayed in chat channels, potentially introducing additional information noise in some scenarios. Considering the current usage of chat channels and the necessity of the feature, we do not plan to add this feature for now. If clearer high-density chat issues emerge in the future, or if we continue to receive a significant number of feedback on this, we will reassess its priority.

2. [Top Suggestion - Mini-Games] Add casual mini-games

Optimization Progress: Accepted, no confirmed release schedule yet.

Some Metas wish to add more casual mini-games to Once Human, providing more relaxed interactive content beyond the intense exploration, combat, and survival pace. After evaluation, casual mini-games can indeed enrich daily experiences in Nalcott and help enhance the social and entertainment atmosphere among players.

Meanwhile, we are also considering: Is adding “minigames” the best way to address everyone’s casual gameplay needs? Currently, the dev team is expanding the fishing gameplay and experimenting with more relaxed, social-oriented content. Rather than adding standalone minigames, we will prioritize evaluating which content better aligns with the overall gameplay style of Once Human and can sustainably meet the daily experience needs of Metas.

Therefore, this suggestion has been adopted, but its development priority is relatively low for now and there is no clear release schedule for now. If the relevant content enters a specific development phase in the future, we will keep everyone updated via announcements.

3. [Top Suggestion - Lenses] Add a function to turn off recoil lens shake

Optimization Progress: Some related settings already exist; closing the recoil effect when firing is not yet supported.

Regarding lens shake experience, the game currently provides a screen shake intensity setting. Metas can adjust it according to their preferences, even setting it to a low level or turning it off. This setting already covers most lens shake scenes.

It should be noted that the recoil effect when firing is an important part of weapon feel and combat feedback. For now, we will not add a function to completely turn off the recoil lens effect. If you reported abnormal shake in other specific scenarios, please continue to provide specific situations where it occurs. We will further confirm whether those scenarios are already covered by the existing screen shake intensity setting and evaluate if separate optimization is needed.

4. [Top Suggestion - Battle Pass] Add a channel to redeem Battle Pass Loot Crate items

[Optimization Progress] Adopted. The related plan is in progress and is expected to be updated in Battle Pass S14.

We are delighted to see Metas’ enthusiasm and attention toward the Stardust Secret Crate rewards this time. We have also received a lot of feedback: some Metas received duplicate rewards, some haven’t obtained the items they want, and highly active Metas who have tried to obtain as many crates as possible still haven’t collected all the rewards.

Here is an explanation of the basic rules for obtaining Stardust Secret Crates: The Crate is essentially a reward pool. Each time a Meta opens it, they will obtain an item from the reward pool based on probability. Obtaining a specific reward does not change the probability of obtaining it again in the future. This mechanism is designed to maintain a certain level of randomness and sustained participation value for the Secret Crate rewards during the Battle Pass cycle, so we currently have no plans to adjust the underlying probability mechanism of the Stardust Secret Crate.

However, we also understand your core concern: since the current Battle Pass Loot Crate reward pool has a time limit, if you don't collect all the core rewards during the Battle Pass cycle, it may cause a strong sense of regret later. To address this issue, we plan to increase the opportunities to obtain the core rewards from this reward pool in future events or active rewards, so that Metas who were unable to collect all rewards during the Battle Pass cycle will still have a chance to catch up later. At the same time, we will also add a certain pity/guarantee mechanism to reduce the frustration caused by excessive randomness.

The relevant plan is already in progress. Specific methods of obtaining and the opening time will be announced later.

5. [Top Suggestion – Deviation] One-click replenish Deviation energy during combat

Optimization Progress: The one-click replenish feature will not be added for now; we will prioritize combat Deviation balance adjustments going forward.

We understand that Metas want to more conveniently replenish Deviation energy during combat to reduce operational costs. However, considering the current combat rhythm, the release of combat Deviations and energy replenishment are themselves part of the combat strategy. If we directly add a one-click replenish feature, it could significantly amplify burst damage output in a short period, affecting the current combat rhythm and Deviation balance. Therefore, after comprehensive evaluation, we currently have no plans to add such a feature. Moving forward, we will prioritize monitoring the balance performance of existing combat Deviations, focusing on strengthening and adjusting those with low usage rates and insufficient value, so that more Deviations can have a practical place in combat.

6. [Top Suggestion – Loading Screen] Add personal loading screen feature

Optimization Progress: Feature under optimization, expected to reopen in August.

Previously, the game supported Metas in setting images from their album as personal loading screens. However, we later discovered that this feature could, in some cases, increase the client's file size, and there was still room for optimization in the display experience. Therefore, we temporarily took down the related feature for a dedicated optimization.

The feature is still being optimized and is expected to reopen in August. After it reopens, Metas will once again be able to set personal loading screens. At the same time, we also plan to improve the display experience after setting: when a Meta completes setting a loading image, the next time entering the loading Interface, the most recently set loading image will be displayed first, allowing everyone to more promptly confirm the actual display effect.

This suggestion has been approved. Development, testing, and launch are currently expected to be completed within 2 months. The specific launch date will be communicated through the official announcement.

Additional Notes

In the previous Meta Hotline Announcement, we mentioned that regarding the feedback on adding a feature to disable the world change prompt, the optimization progress was listed as "no plan to add this feature".

After the announcement was released, we continued to receive feedback from many Metas hoping to be able to disable this prompt. Taking everyone's feedback into account, our team re-examined this feature and found that, in some cases, it had an abnormal status of popping up multiple times within a short period. This behavior could disrupt the normal gaming experience and was not the intended design of the feature, requiring optimization and fixes.

Therefore, we plan to temporarily disable the world prompt feature after the update on July 22(PT). We will fix and optimize its trigger rules and abnormal pop-up issue, and then relaunch the feature after the optimization is complete.

We sincerely apologize for not identifying and addressing this issue earlier. Thank you to the Metas for your continued feedback, which helped us discover a problem we had not fully noticed before. We will continue to follow up on similar experience details to minimize the impact of unnecessary prompts on normal gameplay.

That's all for this Meta Hotline. Your feedback, including your likes and dislikes, is the foundation of Once Human's continued development. We will continue to monitor the Feedback Platform and listen closely to your views. Please keep sharing your honest opinions via the Feedback Platform. Your suggestion may make the next Hot Charts!
